Whiskey Island History Walk

October 2, 2016 @ 6:00 am - 8:00 am

Free

Enjoy the beauty of that special place where the Cuyahoga meets Lake Erie. Experience the briskness of a Fall morning and learn about the fascinating history of this place. See historic photos and hear about the struggle led by Ed Hauser to save this green space from becoming a gravel dock.

Meet: Wendy Park sign, far side of parking lot, 2800 Whiskey Island, Cleveland 44102

If the weather is not looking good a decision to cancel the hike will be posted on Facebook by 8:30 am the morning of the hike.

Special Note:  The West Shoreway and the Edgewater Park exit from the Shoreway are under construction but are open.  The signage on the Shoreway is poor.  Coming from the west there is a small sign that says W. 73rd and that is it.  At the entrance to Edgewater there is a traffic circle (roundabout).  Take the very first exit to the right off of this circle.  You will be eastbound and you will see the sewage treatment plant in the distance.  Head towards the plant and just follow the road past the plant and onto Whiskey Island.
